Wolfrum At The NYS Bowling Championships

On Sunday, March 4, Joe Wolfrum from the Hoosick Falls Central School Bowling Team competed at the New York State Bowling Championships held at Waverly Bowling Center. This was his third appearance on the Section II Section Team in the last four years. He was the most experienced member of the team which included the highest six bowlers from Section II that did not compete on the state team. Wolfrum qualified with the highest 6-game total at Sectionals with a great total of 1,346 pins.
The Section II team finished fifth out of ten sections that competed. This was the highest that the Section II Section team has finished in the past five years. Section VI (Western tier) finished first with a total of 6,372, Section XI (Suffolk) was second with a total of 6,252, Section IV (Southern tier) was third with a total of 5,993, Section IX (Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster) was fourth with a total of 5,980, and Section II (Capital District) was fifth with a total of 5,965 just 15 pins out of fourth place and 28 pins out of third place.
Casey Schoonmaker of Colonie led the Section II team with high game of 236 and 6-game total of 1,221. Wolfrum had a high game of 224 and a 6-game total of 1,172. After graduation, Wolfrum is planning to go to Hudson Valley Community College and be a member of their very successful bowling team.
