December 2, 2011 By eastwickpress

On Saturday, December 10, from 10 am to 3 pm, Mountain Road School in New Lebanon will hold its 13th Annual Holiday Fair. The cozy classrooms of the school’s historic Shaker building are transformed into a wintry wonderland with seasonal fun for the whole family and admission is free.
Children and adults can make gingerbread houses, weave a jump rope, dip candles and make a nature-themed candle holder, construct a pine cone bird feeder, take a cake walk or play in the game room. Younger children can browse for gifts in the Tiny Treasures room and visit the Pocket Lady. Locally produced jewelry, skin care products, pottery, chocolates, blown glass, hand decorated wreaths and other holiday gifts will be on sale, plus a unique selection of children’s books.
The school’s chorus will sing holiday favorites at 11 am and luscious desserts and savory meals are for sale in the Mountain Road Cafe.
Mountain Road School is an independent day school for grades pre-k through eighth with innovative multi-age classes, a visionary nature based curriculum and a nurturing child centered philosophy. It is located off Route 20 on the NY/MA border in New Lebanon. For more information, please call 518-794-8520 or visit www.mountainroadschool.org.
