Lebanon Valley Woman’s Club: A Successful Year

December 9, 2011 By eastwickpress

Despite the small membership, the Lebanon Valley Woman’s Club had a very successful year. It collected children’s books for the library and donated items like toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap washcloths, towels, PJs and other small items to fill backpacks for children going to a special summer camp. Members wrote 50 Christmas Cards to send to Holiday Mail for Heroes and made splints for Operation Smile. Besides the Art & Craft Awards one Scholarship and four Awards were given to students at the New Lebanon High School and  the Berkshire School for boys. The latest program was collecting items for the Woman’s Shelter in Hudson. Sheets, towels, curtains, blankets a stroller some dishes and pots and pans and about 100 lbs. of toilet articles were collected. A big Thank You to all who helped to make this a huge success. The Club will end the year with a late afternoon tea at the home of President Lore Squier. Regular meetings will resume in February 2012.
We are always looking for new members. Anyone interested please contact Lore Squier at 794-8034 for information.
