The Berlin boys cross country team took second place in Class D at the Section II Cross Country Championships on Friday, November 4, at Saratoga State Park. Alex French led the way for Berlin with a 10th place finish in 17:14. The Mountaineers packed their next seven runners into a 22 second span, finishing from 14th place to 23rd place to secure second place as a team in the race.

Those next seven runners were Evan Dawes (14th), Connor Hoyt (15th), Rocco Farano (16th), Dan von Schilgen (18th), Connor Brown (20th), Doug Hoard (22nd) and Erik Viner (23rd). Travis Riccardi and Brad Hoyt, both brought up from JV for the sectional race, finished in 38th and 53rd places. Berne-Knox-Westerlo won the Class D Championship and will move on to the State championships next weekend. French missed out on an individual spot in the State championship race by just one place.
The girls team did not have as much luck in their race, taking 5th place in Class D.
