The New Lebanon Library announces the following October events. All of these events are free and will take place at the Library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
• October 12 – Swap, Not Shop! Halloween Costume Exchange – 6:30 pm. Bring a bag of gently used, clean clothing and accessories suitable for Halloween costumes and an additional empty bag. After the swap, you’ll leave with a bag of “new to you” items. Any left over items will be donated to Goodwill.
• October 14 – Coffeehouse Night – 6 pm; features the music of singer/songwriter Linda Worster. Light refreshments will be served.
• October 15 – Paws-to-Read – 9 am. Therapy dogs come to the Library and children read to their furry friends, and, of course, the dogs listen! Please call 518-794-8844 to register.
• October 17 – Family Feed Topical Food & Recipe Swap – 6:30 pm. Bring a family-friendly recipe of this month’s topic and a sample to share! This month, bring your favorite healthy Halloween treats that your kids love.
• October 20 – New York State Legends, Folklore and Ghost Stories with author David Pitkin – 7 pm. Join us for researched tales of New York hauntings with this noted regional author and storyteller.
• October 21 – Family Movie Night – 6:30 pm. A current film suitable for the whole family will be shown. Call 518-794-8844 for the title. Snacks will be provided.
• October 27 – Family Crafts Night – 6 pm. Make Halloween mummy eggs. All materials will be provided. This activity is suitable for the whole family.
Ongoing Events
• October 12, 19, 26 (Wednesdays) – Tales for Tots Story Hour – 11 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.
• October 12, 19, 26 (Wednesdays) – Hug-A-Bye Babies – noon. Age appropriate stories, songs and movement activities for our youngest patrons and their caregivers.
• October 13, 20, 27 (Thursdays) – Bright Beginnings Story Hour and Play Group – 11 am. Meet other parents and care providers while your child hears a story, then socializes with other children in an unstructured, educational setting. This is free and open to everyone who cares for children up to age 5.
