Greg Laurin Is President Of HFCS Board

At the Hoosick Falls School Board Organizational Meeting July 14, Greg Laurin was elected President and Rick Ferrannini Vice President of the School Board, both by unanimous vote. Laurin has experience as the President of the Hoosick Falls School Board, having served in that capacity for a period of time several years ago.
The Board approved a 5 year contract agreement with the school’s Support Staff, to remain in force through June of 2016.
Appointments
Michael Shea was reappointed as District Treasurer and Cathy Conway as Internal Claims Auditor. Physician services for the upcoming school year will be provided by Martinez Family Practice. The School Dentist is Dr. Paul Bobinski. William Ryan of Tabner, Ryan & Keniry, LLP was re-appointed as District legal counsel at a rate of $135 per hour. The Record and The Eastwick Press were designated as the legal newspapers of the District.
The Board approved bids for the sale of two of the three buses excessed this year. Bus #90 was sold to Evergreen Farm of North Petersburgh for $800, and bus #88 was sold to Naftuli Zenwirth for $3,200. The bids were opened on July 11.
