Students Recognized For Achievements At HFCS

The following students were recognized at Hoosick Falls Junior/Senior High School for their achievements and will be recognized again at awards night.
Allison Philpott is the recipient of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal. To be a recipient for the Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal one must rank in the top 10% of the class, demonstrate potential for success in a rigorous academic setting, excel in advanced math and science courses and exhibit a well-rounded interest and involvement in extracurricular activities.
The University of Rochester Susan B. Anthony Award was presented to Mikaela Marbot for her outstanding achievement in the humanities and social sciences.
The University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award was presented to Michael Merwin for his outstanding achievement in the field of science.
The University of Rochester George Eastman Young Leaders Award was presented to Alyssa Surdam for her leadership potential.
The University of Rochester Xerox Award was presented to Brendan Gleason for his computing ability.
The Student Sage Awards were presented to Ayla Graney and Ana Anderson who lead, excel and serve their community.
The Rochester Institute of Technology Computing Medal and Scholarship was presented to Michael Merwin for his accomplishments, involvement as a member of the school and community and his computing abilities.
The Rochester Institute of Technology Creativity and Innovation Award was presented to Ayla Graney for her accomplishments, involvement as a member of the school and community and her artistic talent.
The Saint Michael’s College Book Award for Scholarship and Service recognizes students who demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism and leadership in their community service endeavors and who rank in the top 20% of their class.  Nicholas Downing and Meaghan McKee were the recipients of this award.
The Clarkson Leadership Award and the Clarkson Achievement Award recognize students in the top 15% of the class who demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities and have been positive contributors in their school and community. Amanda Middleton and Nicholas Downing were the recipients of the awards.
The University at Albany is proud to sponsor the Multicultural High School Achievers Award.  Maritza Gonzalez was the recipient of this award for demonstrating outstanding academic, school and community leadership accomplishments.
The Wells College 21st Century Leadership Award was presented to Meaghan McKee for her leadership ability, community involvement and academic excellence.
The Society of Women Engineers of the New York State Capital District recognized Stephany Bradley and Allison Philpott for their achievement in mathematics and science.
The Saint Lawrence Augsbury Award and Scholarship was presented to Allison Philpott and Mikaela Marbot for ranking in the top of their class and having strong leadership and community service involvement.
