George Unwell; Winter Coming On

Monday, November 19, 1855: I am not so well, did but a few chores, and John F. went onto the Rodgers farm and selected out 25 of his meanest sheep and sold to Zenas Goodrich for 32 dollars and then selected the best wethers and drove home.
Tuesday: This afternoon John F. went onto the Rodgers farm and divided carrots with the Rafferty boys and fetched home part of a load. Today John Hatch worked for us, he butchered a sheep, banked the house, and chopped wood. Today some snow.
Wednesday: I keep in the house, not went out any for I am quite unwell. John F. carried Geo P. a quarter mutton, and went onto the Rodgers farm to fodder sheep.
Monday: This afternoon I went to Lebanon with my horse and wagon  to Doctor Bates and paid him fifty cents for medicine and strengthening plaster to put on my sides, my two daughters went with me and did some trading to N. Nichols Store, sold some socks. Tonight John F. went to the debating down to the school house.
Tuesday: I am better of my gravel complaint, I helped put wood in the wood house.
Wednesday: This forenoon I walked down to Alexander Ostrander’s and got a hog’s heart and liver, and John F. unwell.
Saturday: This afternoon John F. fixed the pipe to the water to the barn, and Geo P. came and soldered the pipe.
Monday: Today a German Doctor by the name of Silvernail from Berlin called and left me some medicine, and I paid him for it one dollar and fifty cts. He was on the way to Philander Hatch’s. This evening John F. went to the debate.
