On Sunday, March 6, Joe Wolfrum, from Hoosick Falls Central School, bowled for the Section II team in Syracuse. The team finished in 7th place out of ten teams with a total score for six games of 5,600 pins, under difficult lane conditions. They finished 499 pins behind the first place team from Section XI from Suffolk which had a great score of 6,099 pins. Ryan Wager, from Guilderland, had the highest six game total on the Section II team with a 1,282, which was the third highest of

the 60 who bowled. Joe Wolfrum had the second highest six game total on the Section II team with a 1,141, which was the 20th highest of the 60 who bowled in the tournament. Wolfrum’s highest game was a 236 which was the 11th highest game of the those who bowled that day.
This was Wolfrum’s second trip to the State bowling tournament. He also made the team two years ago as a freshman. He was the only bowler on the team with any past experience at the state level. “Hopefully, he will be able to make the team again next year as a senior. He was much more relaxed this year than he was two years ago, and hopefully the experience this year will improve his total game for his senior season. I was very proud how he performed under tough lane conditions. With a couple of breaks, he could of had a really good day. It is an honor to represent your section at the state level. Many bowlers never get a chance to experience it. Wolfrum represented his school and Section II admirably,” said Coach Lang.
