Hoosick Falls came back for revenge. The boys varsity team came back for the win they wanted the first time they played Schuylerville. The boys played tough through the miserable weather of freezing rain and got their goals in the first half to put them up 2-0. The Philips brothers, Evan and Drew, each scored a goal. They didn’t want to do it any ordinary way so they each scored by heading the ball into the goal. Each assist came from PJ Priore. The rain did not help with any of the play for either team. Everyone was slipping all over the place, and no one could get a grip on the ground to do much footwork. After the Panthers got both of their goals they knew they needed to play more defensively to protect the goal.
The Panthers recently brought up Taylor Baker who was on the junior varsity team. Baker has been contributing greatly in helping keep the ball out of the back field. The Horses did get through a few times and had 9 shots on goal, but Hoosick Falls’ keeper, Cody Gaines, didn’t let them in. This win has moved the boys up to fifth place. They will face off against the Stillwater Warriors Friday on their own home turf at 4:15.
