George P Cuts His Hand

Tuesday: John F. is unwell and did not hoe. Today a severe hot weather and we hear of some being sun stroked. Today John F. carried his 50 young sheep at one dollar and 63 cts per head and had 10 dollars in advance to Mr.    from Nassau.
Friday: I and Thomas hoed on the hill and finished hoeing potatoes, John F. did not hoe, he was unwell.
Friday July 14: This evening I walked up twice to Geo P. for his wife is taken quite unwell.
Saturday: I and John F. and Thomas hayed. Today Geo P. went and got Doctor Bates for his wife
Sunday: Today Geo P’s wife is a little better.
Monday: We hayed, four of us, I and John F. and Michael Lynch and Thomas Lindsay. Today said Lynch began to work for us one month for 24 dollars. Tonight Geo P. carried five bushels of new potatoes to Hull’s at one dollar per.
Monday, July 24: Today Geo P. went to Pittsfield with my horse and wagon and carried 12 bushel potatoes for us in the way of changing works and sold them at one dollar per bushel and when he returned  he went with John F. to Doctor Bates to have the gash sewed up that he cut his hand by setting a barrel on the heel of a scythe and it bounced up against it
Tuesday: Today John F. called on Edgar Brown to work his house rent at Guy Moffitt’s and walked to Moses Tilden  to pay in my 70 dollars rail road stock but said Tilden said to pay it in the first of August. John F. quite sick tonight. Edgar Brown came to reckon with John F., but he wanted unreasonable account allowed him and they did not reckon.
