The defending Class C champs and NYS semifinalists, Hoosick Falls Varsity Football team started the season on a high note as they defeated the Corinth Tomahawks on Friday night 48-20.

score to bring the tally to 13-0 at the 3:33 mark of the first quarter.
Senior quarterback Mike Brewster connected for 5 of 7 passes and threw for 78 yards including a 29 yard touchdown pass to Tanner Williams that brought the score to 20-0 at the end of the first quarter.
The HFCS defense held the Tomahawks to 432 yards on offense.
Williams ended the contest rushing for 52 yards with 3 touchdowns while Burns blasted for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Rounding out the scoring was sophomore quarterback Mike Sargood.
The Panthers take to the road on Friday to meet the Red Raiders of Mechanicville.  Game time is 7 pm.

Now that HFCS has new bleachers and a sturdy new press box, a trip to the very top of that box gives an entirely different perspective on the football game. Here the Panthers scored a touchdown at the end of first half bringing the score to 34-6 against Corinth last Friday night. (Bea Peterson photo)
