Cheyenne Seel recently returned from Owego, NY, where she participated in the STAR (Students Taking Action for Recognition) Events Program at the NYS FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) Meeting. Cheyenne entered and received a Gold rating and will go on to represent New York State at the National STAR Events in July in Chicago. The State STAR Events included up to 27 different events and involved 52 students, grades 6 through 12. Eight districts from across the State sent representatives to participate in 18 events. Members

were evaluated at the local and district level to qualify for State events. One or two entries for each of the categories will be eligible to represent New York at the National Leadership Meeting.
Cheyenne’s presentation was in the category of Career Investigation. She chose “Becoming a Longaberger Home Consultant” and brought home the Gold for the Berlin Chapter from Berlin Central School representing District 4. The advisor to the Berlin Chapter is Dianne Mosher, who teaches at Berlin and is the District FCCLA Advisor.
Cheyenne is the daughter of Bill and Maureen Seel of Petersburgh.
