The Stephentown Library Book Discussion Group will read The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff for their meeting on Thursday, March 4. This rich and wonderful novel, filled with monsters, murders and ne’er-do-wells, explores contemporary Templeton (a stand-in for Cooperstown) and the secrets of its past. The heroine, archeology student Willie Upton, returns to her mother’s home in disgrace on the day the dead lake monster is discovered and searches out the truth of her lineage.
Meetings are held at the Stephentown Memorial Library, Main Street, from noon to 1 pm. Bring a lunch if you like. Copies of the book are available at the Library. New readers are welcome. For more information, call 518-733-5750.
