Author Edward Chevrette, Jr., will present a program on his life as a pilot in the Capital District and the Berkshires during a time some have called the Golden Age of general aviation. He will talk about his fascinating and unique life as a pilot. Chevrette is the author of Wings of Fortune. The book has a 5 star review and is currently being considered as possible material by a California based movie production company.
Several chapters of the book are based on his experiences at the Poestenkill Airport. The Poestenkill Historical Society has obtained copies of Wing of Fortune, and they can be purchased at the January 26 program or at the Poestenkill Town Historian’s Office in the Town Hall on Rt. 351.
The program, at 7:30 pm on January 26 at the Town Hall, is free, and the public is welcome. Refreshments will be provided by Gail Bentley and Alice Castagnier.
