County Emergency Services Memorial Ceremony

October 2, 2009 By eastwickpress

Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen M. Jimino will join with community leaders and other locally elected officials at a memorial service to honor the men and women of emergency services who have passed away in the last year. The service will begin at 3 pm on Sunday, October 4. The event will take place at the Maureen Stapleton Theater located on the Hudson Valley Community College campus in Troy. Family members of those being honored and members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend.
“Rensselaer County residents are truly fortunate that they can rely on a highly trained group of emergency responders willing to risk their own safety and life to  answer the emergency calls and do everything in their power to help,” said Jimino.  “I am honored to once again be asked to participate in this ceremony honoring those who put forth the commitment and dedication necessary to help protect the lives of others.”
The Emergency Services Ceremony is sponsored by the Rensselaer County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, the Rensselaer County Fire Chiefs Association, Rensselaer County Law Enforcement Association, Rensselaer County Bureau of Public Safety and Hudson Valley Community College.
