The Rensselaer County Legislature will team up with Troy business e-Lot to sponsor an electronics recycling day on Saturday, October 17, providing County residents with a safe and convenient way to dispose of unwanted electronics and appliances, Chairman of the Legislature Neil J. Kelleher and Legislator Alex Shannon recently announced.
The County has joined with e-Lot to sponsor two previous electronics recycling days, and the response to both events was outstanding. Each event drew in excess of 300 cars to the event, with residents dropping off everything from computers and televisions to refrigerators and stereos.
Residents can drop off appliances and electronics for free. There is a $50 charge for each television and $5 for each computer monitor. No wood console televisions will be accepted.
This third electronics recycling day will be held Saturday, October 17, from 9 am to 2 pm in the upper parking lot of the Rensselaer County Office Building, located at 1600 7th Avenue. Motorists attending the event are asked to enter the upper parking lot via Congress Street.
The event is organized by the County Environmental Management Council, which is an office of the County Legislature. For more questions regarding the event, please call the EMC at 270-2888.
