Jim Spaniol from Stephentown and his 11 year old son Zachary recently went on a ten day African safari hunt in East Kirkwood, South Africa. Being avid hunters they wanted to experience hunting some of the largest variety of game species in the world. They stayed at a private ranch, hunting an area that stretched over 16,000 acres. They set out to shoot 15 animals between the two of them. They were able to shoot 11 of the 15 they sought. Zach shot a kudu, a blue wildebeest, a zebra, a bushbok and an impala. Jim shot a kudu, a gemsbok, a blesbok, a white, a black and a common springbok. The trip was a complete dream come true and they definitely would like to go back someday. A baboon and warthog are on Zach’s list for next time.
