Shelby Marsh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Holovach of Hoosick Falls, is this year’s recipient of the University of Rochester Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award. This award is given to a junior who has demonstrated a commitment to understanding and addressing difficult social issues, has shown leadership and a dedication to community action, has strong grades and has taken rigorous courses in the humanities and social sciences.
Shelby was inducted into the National Honor Society during her sophomore year, and she is a member of Key Club and Student Prayer Group. Shelby has also been a member of the soccer team for three years.
Shelby plans on attending college in the fall of 2010.
