Rensselaer County Democratic Party Chairman Thomas W. Wade recently announced the formation of a judicial screening committee. The panel will interview serious candidates for the County Court Judgeship soon to be vacated by Judge Patrick J. McGrath who was elected to the State Supreme Court on November 4.
Wade said the committee will be chaired by Troy attorney Thomas V. Kenney, Jr. Other members are Attorney John E. Darling, Jr. of Grafton, Attorney Keith St. John of Nassau, former Troy City Council member Catherine Conroy and County Legislator Brian Zweig of North Greenbush.
“The committee is comprised of individuals selected for their integrity and commitment to public service. This committee will conduct a fair and open process in order to recommend the most suitable candidate for the Democratic Party,” Wade stated.
Candidates interested in pursuing the Democratic Party nomination for County Court Judge are invited to forward a resume in confidence to Thomas V. Kenney, Jr., 65 Second Street, Troy, NY, 12180.
