Webster emphasized that the agreement was not a comprehensive settlement of PFOA issues between the Town and Taconic – it only addresses reimbursement of the Town’s expenses during the calendar year 2016.
Taconic signed the agreement on Tuesday February 21. It now awaits only the approval of the Petersburgh Town Board. A release from the Town said copies of the agreement may be viewed at the Town Offices.
The Town Board has scheduled a Special meeting for Tuesday February 28 at 7 pm at the Town Hall to consider approval of the agreement.
The Consent Order entered into by Taconic also requires that it pay additional incremental operation and maintenance costs of the Town Public Water System caused by the installation, operation, and maintenance of the activated carbon treatment system. The Town and Taconic are currently negotiating the elements of the reimbursement for future operation and maintenance. [/private]
