The Town of Hoosick Planning Board had a full agenda on Monday, July 21. However, four of those on the agenda didn’t appear, and the one large project, the Brimmer Farm Subdivision for South Street couldn’t be dealt with because there was not a quorum. The meeting was over in less than a half hour.
[private]At the moment, the Board of seven has been reduced to only four members with the recent resignation of John Cooney. The Brimmer Farm property belongs to Planning Board Chairman Jim Dunigan. When Bill Johnston approached the Board to present information on the Brimmer Farm project, Dunigan recused himself from the Board – and there was no quorum so no decision could be made. This is at least the second time the project has been held up because there was not a quorum on the Board.
Last month the Planning Board requested that the Town Board reduce the number of Planning Board members from seven to five. The Town Board declined to do so and is searching for additional members. To be on the Board requires a desire to serve the community, to be fairly knowledgeable of the Hoosick area, to attend the monthly Planning Board meetings and to participate in eight hours of training over a year.
Meerwarth
Paula Meerwarth addressed the Board regarding the division of 45.85 acres belonging to John Meerwarth into two parcels. A right of way to the property on Hoosick Junction Road would be added. The 25.85 acre southwest parcel may be sold. The Board declared this a simple subdivision.
Trembley
Rick Tinkham addressed the Board for an initial conference regarding property belonging to Joseph Trembley requesting a boundary line adjustment of 21 acres on Beechwood Road. He will return next month.[/private]
