Lloyd Schliesser will give an illustrated talk on covered bridges at the Stephentown Historical Society meeting on Monday, April 1, at 7:30 pm. The meeting will be at the Stephentown Heritage Center on Garfield Road, Stephentown. It is free and open to the public. The building is handicapped accessible. Schliesser, a Poestenkill resident, has been studying and photographing covered bridges for many years. He is interested in the design and uniqueness of each bridge and will tell about the architecture and history of these useful structures, which originated in the Alpine region of Europe.
