The kindergarten classes at Hoosick Falls Central School have been learning about bicycle safety and the importance of wearing a helmet. As a culminating activity to this unit, on Friday, June 11, the students participated in a Trike-A-Thon! To raise money for the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, students gathered pledges and then took turns riding bikes, tricycles and scooters around the gymnasium for an entire hour. The kindergarten students raised $1,840!
Thanks to the generous donations from local businesses and organizations, all of the kindergarten students were given a new helmet. The following is a list of the businesses and organizations that donated towards the purchase of bicycle helmets to ensure the safety of all our kindergarten students during our Trike-A-Thon event and throughout the rest of the summer: Hoosick Falls Kiwanis Club, Town of Hoosick Lions Club, White Creek Volunteer Fire Company, North Hoosick Volunteer Fire Department, Hoosick Falls Central School, Thorpe’s Pharmacy, Tomhannock Bicycles and Society of St. Stanislaw.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a successful event!
