The First United Church, Presbyterian Hall was filled Friday evening, May 15, with Girl Scouts of every size and age along with their mothers and grandmothers.
It was the Girl Scout “Say Thanks Dinner.” Brownie Troops entertained everyone after dinner with a song and a lesson in working together demonstrated with kazoos. In the first rendition each girl played her own melody. It was not altogether harmonious. In the second rendition the girls played the same song together and before long, everyone was singing with them. It was a very special moment. Another special moment for many of the girls in each Troop was when they advanced to the next level of scouting by walking across a decorated bridge to be received at the new Troop level. The Thank You Dinner was the first such special dinner held by the Troops jointly in many years.
