June Carol (Van Orman) King passed away on July 3rd, 2023 while bravely battling cancer. She was surrounded by generations of love. Although her life’s journey came to a close in Arizona, she spent much of her life in the Northeast (Vermont, Minnesota, and Upstate NY).
She was born on June 21st, 1940, in Whitingham, VT. Daughter of parents Henry Carlton Van Orman Sr (1913-1981) and Lucy A Vose Van Orman (1917-2001). June was the beloved and sole remaining sister of Virginia, Lucille, and Henry (Hank) Jr. She is also predeceased by husband and soul mate Howard King (2015) and daughter Betsy Davendonis (2022). She is survived by son Vincent Harwood; daughter Kelly (Kevin) Kishbaugh; daughter from another mother Terry (Scott) Moseley; grand-daughters Sara (Travis) Bentley, Emily (Ray) Duke, Mckayla Davendonis; grandsons Clint Davendonis, Joseph (Tyler) Keller; great-grandchildren Karsyn, Ashton, Mattie, Silas, twins Austin and Beau; nephew Hank (Jess) Van Orman III; nieces Karin (Alan) Van Orman Lim, Lori (Martin) Whitman; and many other nieces and nephews and their families, as well as life-long friends.
June was a daddy’s girl from the very beginning. She was delivered by her father in the Summer of 1940. She spent her early years growing up on a farm in a loving family where she developed a strong work ethic, something she would later pass on to her children. June valued loyalty, honesty, and authenticity. She will be remembered for many things, including her quick wit, infectious laugh, culinary skills, and love of music and dance.
At her request, there will be no calling hours or services.
June will be desperately missed by all those that she’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
May she rest in Eternal Peace wrapped in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
