HFCS Girls Softball

HF 19 – Waterford 2

At Waterford HS. Monday, May 1. HF O 5-4, L 4-3.

In a five inning game, the Ladies exploded for 19 runs on 16 hits, scoring in every inning but the first. In the third inning, 13 Panthers went to the plate, ten of them went around the bases to score. Lily Abbott went 4-4 with two triples, three RBIs, Sydney Miller was 3-4 with 5 RBI’s, Breanna Schnakenberg was 3-4 with two RBIs, Liz Ryan was 2-5, and Mackenzie Ellis was 2-3 with 3 RBIs. Waterford got two runs on three hits. Pitcher Abby Philpott got the win in four innings of pitching, Lauren Harrison pitched the fifth inning.

HF 2 – Lake George 5

At Lake George Tournament, Saturday, April 29. HF O 4-4, L 3-3.

In the second game, the Panthers could only muster two last inning runs while Duanesburg was able to gather five. Abby Philpott went 2-4 and Mackenzie Ellis was 3-2. Philpott took the loss on the mound.

HF 6 – Duanesburg 3

At Lake George Tournament, Saturday, April 29. HF O 3-4, L 3-3.

In the first game of a doubleheader, the Panther offense came alive and scored six runs. Leading off the game with a hit, Liz Ryan was brought around to put one run in the books in the first inning. The third inning the Ladies gathered four runs, with a lead-off triple by Liz Ryan setting the tone, four batters later Mackenzie Ellis rapped another triple for two RBIs, and Lily Abbott hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the four run. The Panthers added one more in the fifth. Ryan went 2-3, Abby Philpott, Maddy Atherton, Ellis, and Stephanie Merwin each added one hit.

HF 0 – Tamarac 3

At HFCS. Friday, April 28.

Tamarac scored one run in the first, third and fourth innings to gather more than enough runs to defeat the Panthers on this day. The Panthers’ offense never got anything and struggled to move anyone that did get on base to advance. Lead-off batter Liz Ryan went 3-4, Abby Philpott was 2-4 and Mackenzie Ellis was 2-3.  [/private]
