The thirty-first running of the Wood Memorial Road Race was held on Saturday, May 21. It was excellent running weather. Hoosick Post #40 Hoosick Falls is proud to announce the Grand Marshall for the 2016 Memorial Day parade, longtime Hoosick Falls resident Steve Marcoux.

Among Twenty-Eight Regional Recipients
On Friday, May 13, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency honored 28 individuals and organizations and businesses from across New York State with Environmental Champion Awards for their achievements in protecting public health and the environment. EPA Regional Administrator Judith A. Enck was joined by Murray Fisher, founder of the New York Harbor School, to present the awards to this year’s recipients at a ceremony at the EPA’s offices in Manhattan. HF School District Honors Retirees At May Board Meeting, Capital Project Looms On The Horizon

Hoosick voters passed the 2016-2917 school budget on Tuesday, May 17 by a three-to-one margin. In addition to the $23.5 million dollar budget, they also approved a proposition to purchase buses at no cost to district taxpayers by an even wider margin. The budget for next year is a 1.76 percent increase over this year’s, and incurred no tax levy increase.
