The Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad Youth Group celebrated its one year anniversary this year. This group is for youths from age twelve to fifteen at which time they become a junior member.
[private]On April 2, members of the group traveled to Albany to visit the New York State Museum. This fine museum has exhibits of native heritage, Quakers, Jewish history, New York Birds and Animals. One of the most moving displays is the 9-1-1 exhibits showing a destroyed fire truck, airplane parts and steel beams.
A great display of fire apparatus is also part of the museum as is a New York City subway car.
The youth group was accompanied by their drivers and squad sponsors Deb Lohnes, Bill Gaillard and Beth Cipperly (also the Squad president)
Youth Members attending the trip were: Jason Brock, Sydney Miller, Lindsay Tutuntjian, Brianna Jones, Kyle and Rhyse Cross, and Gabe Fisher.
Youth members learn about various patient care techniques the latest being vacuum splints for arms, legs and full body.
