Sounds Of Spring Concert At The Immaculate Conception Church In New Lebanon

May 9, 2014 By eastwickpress

submitted by Bev McClave

Despite the winter-like weather the Sounds of Spring organ concert warmed the hearts of the more than forty people who attended. On Sunday. May 4, at the Immaculate Conception Church in New Lebanon, five very talented organists from throughout the area played to the delight of all. Amy Renak, Director of Music at the Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsfield, Jeff Hunt, organist at St. Mark’s Church in Pitttsfield, Charles Marshall, the music minister at All Saints Episcopal Church in North Adams, Keith Dezieck, Choir Director at the Immaculate Conception Church in New Lebanon, and the newcomer, Luke Olivieri, Director of Music at St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church in Spencertown, were the featured performers. The highlight of the afternoon was the soulful rendition by trumpet and organ of “Voluntary in C” by Tomaso Albinoni performed by Mr. Dezieck and Mr. Marshall. A wine and cheese reception afterwards in the parish hall provided a wonderful opportunity to meet the organists and encourage their return next year.
