National Geographic Television Channel’s weekly show “Building Wild” starring Hoosick’s Pat Bakaitis and television celebrity Paulie DiMeo as the Cabin Kings continues to highlight the local area. In the February 11 show, which was the building of a cabin for Patrick and Ryan Sweeney in Berlin, Paulie noted that he wanted some Brown’s Beer, which is brewed in Hoosick.

On Tuesday, March 4, the cabin featured was built for Krissy and Tim Fauler. It’s on their property in Buskirk/Pittstown. Krissy works in Hoosick Falls and is well known for her vocal talent. Dr. Fauler, a podiatrist, has a part time office in Hoosick Falls.
Every week Bakaitis comes up with some interesting inventions for the cabins and sites. At the Park’s cabin, which aired this past Tuesday, he built an elevator for the tower made from a portion of a shipping container. The show had to be seen, and can be seen in other time slots this week and next, to appreciate the challenges met in building that cabin. Check the television listings for dates and time.
In the Pratico episode on March 18 Master Craftsman Chuck Jennet, well known locally for his chainsaw carvings, created a bear in four and a half hours from a tree right on the Pratico property. Jennet, who now is part of the Carpenter’s Touch LLC on Route 7 in Johnsonville, said he had a chance to help in other parts of the construction at that site as well. Jennet appeared for the briefest of moments on the show and his bear looked fantastic in the corner of the completed cabin holding a lantern with several candles in it.
It isn’t every day small town folks get to see their friends and acquaintances weekly on national television!
The word is the Cabin Kings are looking for 15 more remote building sites.
