The Hoosick Falls Girls U12 softball team had its sights set high for the hometown tournament July 12 to the 14. [private]Their coaches told them to perform to the best of their ability and have fun but demand the best from themselves. The girls responded with an unbeaten record in the games and outscored their competition with a combined score of 38-9 in the round robin games and continued in the championship round beating out another tough team, Salem, 12-4 for first place.
The girls are looking forward to playing softball together for the school in coming years and are sure to do well. The tournament ending was an emotional one for the head coach Bobby Abbott who has coached these girls for several years and is sad to see it end. These girls, except the winning pitcher Abby Philpott, will not be returning to this league next year.
