After posting the proper notice, Hoosick Town Supervisor Keith Cipperly held a Special Board Meeting on Monday, June 17, at 3:30 pm.
The Supervisor introduced Resolution Number 48 of 2013 authorizing the payment of rent to HAYC3. The resolution reads that as the Town of Hoosick and HAYC3 are close to finalizing the terms of a lease agreement for the use of Town office space in the Armory for a monthly rent of $1,500, the Town agrees to continue to pay rent for the occupied space until a lease agreement is final.

In a recent conversation, Allard said he believes the changes to the lease agreement could be easily resolved if he could talk with HAYC3 attorney Ed Gorman, but they have not been able to get together. Gorman responded via email that “I have not received a request to meet with any Town Board Member, and if I had, I would respectfully decline. The Town of Hoosick is represented by the attorney of their choosing, with whom I have exchanged no fewer than 50 emails, a handful of telephone conversations and multiple drafts of the proposed lease and language, since her appointment in February 2013, with the most recent on June 19. Prior to that, the lease negotiations had been handled directly between representatives of HAYC3 and the Town, with my preparation of the first draft lease back in October 2012. I am disappointed by the implication that my office has failed to properly and zealously represent the interests of my client. The degradation of our significant efforts to forge a lease agreement that serves the needs of HAYC3, as well as my Town, is disheartening. Despite this, the commitment to public service, by myself and my office, remains.”
At its regular monthly meeting on June 10, the Board had a request from Mike Lilac to hold the annual four day summer basketball camp. A question arose as to whether Lilac ran the camp or was it a Town camp. The subject was to be reviewed with Lilac as to which he preferred. At the special meeting the Board appointed Mike Lilac Director of the Town’s basketball camp and Randy Tutunjian and Taylor Baker assistant coaches at the same rate as last year.
Those attending the meeting were Supervisor Cipperly and Councilmen Kevin Allard and Jeff Wysocki.[/private]
