The Grafton Town Board held a very brief meeting on April 22 to decide whether or not to purchase a truck. The bid was opened at the previous meeting on April 8. [private]There was only one truck offered in response to the solicitation. It is a 2002 International 5600 Paystar tandem axle dump truck with plow wing, offered for $58,415.
Barbara Messenger asked Grafton Highway Superintendent Herb Hasbrouck how long he thought this truck would last. He estimated the Town could use it for 8-10 years.
She asked if he had looked at the truck. He said yes, he has looked it over and consulted with some people about it, and he is satisfied that it is a good truck.
The Board then voted unanimously to purchase the truck.
The Board then went into an executive session to discuss “a personnel matter.”[/private]
