On Tuesday, December 18, the Hoosick Falls Central School Senior Chorus, directed by Ambigay Yudkoff, sang a medley of songs for the Hoosick Falls Kiwanis Club at the Club’s holiday luncheon held in the Hoosick Falls Fire House.
Yudkoff began the program asking for a moment of silence for those in Newtown, CT. The Chorus’ first song, an Irish song, “’Til We Meet Again,” was dedicated to the memory of the children and teachers lost in Newtown. Other songs included “Adeste Fideles” in Latin and English, an African American spiritual, a Jewish song and several holiday songs. Yudkoff skillfully displayed the versatility of her musical choices and the talent of her students. Julia Baker, for instance sang in the Chorus for some numbers and played the violin for others. The Chorus was accompanied by Elementary School Music teacher Bill Brown on keyboard and High School Librarian Martha von Schilgen on cello.
After the concert everyone enjoyed a homemade buffet lunch.
