They said they were going to play football in the Dome. They were only 11 and 12 years old, but they honestly believed they were going to play in the Dome. The mother of one of those then 12 year old boys wanted to move back to her hometown, but her young son said he wanted to stay in Hoosick Falls so he could play football and go to The Dome with his friends. When they won the Pee Wee football championship, they said they were going to play in the Dome.
And they did. They played in the Dome. Boy, did they ever play in the Dome.

Petersburgh House Burns To The Ground – No One Injured

The home of the Votra family at 1024 Taconic Trail, just east of where Dayfoot Road meets Route 2, burned to the ground on Monday afternoon.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured. The fire was called in by passers-by who saw the smoke and flames, one of whom was firefighter and Petersburgh Supervisor Siegfried Krahforst.

NYS Police Investigate Fatal Accident In Hoosick
NY State Police news release
On November 19, at approximately 1:17 pm, Jo-De M. Wilbur, 26, of Greenwich, NY, was traveling east on County Route 102, Johnson Hill Road, in the Town of Hoosick, operating a 2002 Ford Ranger pickup truck. BCS Board Agrees To Disagree

The Berlin School Board seems to have arrived at a point where they can agree to disagree. The traditional vote on the Capital Project bond flotation failed to pass at the November 20 meeting with the required two-thirds super majority, just like it always does. The only difference was that the Board members present didn’t even bother to take the time to argue their views; the matter went straight to vote.
“What? No discussion?” asked Board Member Bev Stewart.
Her fellow members sighed as one.
“Just kidding,” said Stewart.

The History Of Berlin’s Dutch Church Will Be Presented At The Stephentown Historical Society Meeting
The Stephentown Historical Society will hold its holiday potluck dinner on Monday, December 3, at 6:30 pm at the Stephentown Heritage Center, Garfield Road (County Route 26) in Stephentown. Officers and Board Members will be elected at the brief business meeting. Sharon Klein will give an illustrated talk on the history of Berlin’s Dutch Church after the dinner. Two Petersburgh Girls Who Are Miss Olivia’s Ballet Students Dance In Professional Nutcracker

Two students from the British School of Ballet in Hoosick Falls auditioned for parts in the Christmas ballet The Nutcracker. Both girls received parts. Over 200 students from different ballet schools auditioned and about 40 students were chosen. Nine year old Adriana Hendricks from Petersburgh will be an angel and six year old Alexandra Bull will be a Polichinello.

HFCS Presents “And Then There Were None”

The Hoosick Falls Central School Drama Club has been rehearsing for the past seven weeks. This week rehearsals are very long as the cast and crew count down to the opening night performance Friday. The cast of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None feels they are already ahead of schedule. “We’re ready,” they said at a get-together on Monday. The Berlin Music Department will present “Beauty And The Beast” on Friday, November 30, and Saturday, December 1, at 7 pm and Sunday, December 2, at 2 pm. After the Sunday show children may have their photo taken with the characters of their choice.
