HAYC3 Gets The Armory For A Buck

It’s official. On Wednesday, June 20, the NYS Assembly approved a bill put forth by NYS Assemblyman Tony Jordan for the State to authorize the transfer of the Hoosick Falls Armory to the Hoosick Area Youth Center and Community Coalition (HAYC3) for the sum of $1. On Thursday, June 21, the NYS Senate approved a similar bill submitted by Senator Roy McDonald.

Grafton’s Dickinson Hill Fire Tower Is Open To The Public

On Monday, June 25, the Dickinson Hill Fire Tower at Grafton Lakes State Park was opened to the public with a celebration and a ribbon cutting. Rose Harvey, Commissioner of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, was at the Fire Tower ceremony to meet and celebrate with all those who have stepped forward to support the restoration of the tower and help ensure its future. Walter A. Wood Alumni Reunion 2012

Nearly 160 Alumni and guests attended the 2012 Annual Walter A. Wood High School (Hoosick Falls) Alumni Reunion on Saturday, June 9, at the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps. Co-chairperson Janice Tate welcomed the group and led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Rev. Paul Mason, Class of 1955, delivered the Invocation.

Community Band Concerts In The Park Begin
The summer concert band that began as the Van Surdam Band, now known as the Hoosick Falls Community Band, will begin summer band concerts in Wood Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 4, at 7:30 pm.
Concerts are held each Wednesday evening through July and the four weeks in August from 7:30 to 9 pm. In the event of rain the concert for that evening is cancelled.
