The Town of Hoosick Democratic Committee is pleased to announce its candidates for the November election.
Richard McNally, former partner in the respected law firm of Holbrook, Johnson, McNally and Tate in Hoosick Falls, is seeking his second term as Rensselaer County DA. Over the past four years McNally has brought leadership and professionalism to the DA’s office and has made the Criminal Justice System in this County work for all.
Gary Gordon, a twenty-year veteran of the Troy Police Department and registered Conservative, is seeking election as Rensselaer County Sheriff. Gordon brings impressive credentials to the position and is currently working as an investigator with the District Attorney’s office, a position to which he was appointed by the former Rensselaer County DA DeAngelis and re-appointed by current DA Rich McNally.
Dedicated public servant Bob Ryan is seeking re-election as Town of Hoosick Councilperson. Ryan has proven to be the voice of the people and of reason on the Town Board. Bob’s ability to work with all public officials and with current Highway Superintendent Bill Shiland, his knowledge of Town government and his ability to put the Town of Hoosick needs above politics are a testimony to his integrity and principles.
Current Town Justice Richard Whalen is seeking re-election as Town Judge. Judge Whalen’s tenure in office has been one of dedication and fairness.
Marie O’Neil, former Village of Hoosick Falls Trustee, will bring her marketing and people skills to promote the Hoosick community. Marie’s ability to organize and work with civic organizations and her professional network will be an asset to the Town.
Former Village Mayor Laura Reynolds is seeking election as Town Supervisor. Laura’s CPA experience and knowledge of municipal accounting will save the taxpayers’ dollars as there will no need to hire outside accounting firms to mentor. Her understanding of the role of government and what it takes to get the job done will allow Reynolds to hit the ground running on January 1 and, along with Ryan and O’Neil, will put Hoosick’s interests first and promise to work with Highway Superintendent Bill Shiland and all elected Town officials and residents.
If you would like to meet the candidates, they will be present at the Spaghetti Dinner hosted by the Town of Hoosick Democratic Party on Friday, September 30, at the Polish Hall from 5 to 7:30 pm. The event is open to the public and tickets will be sold at the door and take-outs are available.
