First Family Subdivision
On Monday, July 18, Mark Cottrell appeared before the Planning Board to ask approval for a family subdivision, under the Town of Hoosick Local Law #1, which was passed at the Town Board meeting last week. Cottrell’s mother gifted him 28.8 acres, and he plans to put a house on a two acre parcel of that property. The rest will remain farmland. The Board approved a motion to waive the preliminary hearing as Cottrell had appeared before them numerous times regarding this change. The Board approved the property change and classified it a Family Subdivision.
Jones Property
Attorney George Holbrook appeared before the Board for a second time regarding a simple boundary line change on 3.72 acres on South Street in Hoosick containing one small house and one large house, owned by Mary Jones. While Holbrook was showing them the boundary lines, Board Chairman Jim Dunigan asked Holbrook if Jones had been in touch with him about a change in the boundary line because of a septic system. She had called him earlier in the day. A frustrated Holbrook answered no. The resolution on the change was again delayed until an accurate boundary line is defined.
