The Little Hoosic Watershed Association is pleased to announce that the US Fish and Wildlife Service are mobilizing to install a series of rock vanes at a severely eroded area in the river at Bentley’s farm where more than half an acre of farmland was lost to erosion in the past year alone. Rock vanes divert water flow and collected sediment away from the stream bank and help to alleviate erosion. The stream’s native trout population also benefits.
