Policy/Pay Rate For Highway Department
Highway Employees with one year service shall be entitled to one week vacation with pay based on a 40 hour week; each year of service shall entitle him to one additional day per year with two weeks vacation at five years, a total of 80 hours, and three weeks with 10 years service, a total of 120 hours; each employee shall receive five sick days per year after one year of service.
The following base rates will apply for the Highway Employees with an annual percentage increase for 2009 of 2%:
Equipment Operator MEOL – $17.21 per hour Mechanic – $18.21 per hour
Employees will be paid time & one half for any work over 40 hours per week
Employees with six or more months of service shall be entitled to eight paid holidays including: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day and two days paid bereavement leave for family members.
Each employee is to be paid bi-weekly on alternating Fridays, except on summer hours it will be on Thursday.
Policy & Pay Rate For Transfer Station Appointees
The Transfer Station Supervisor and Senior Attendant receive one week vacation after one year of service, for a 25 hour work week.
The Transfer Station Supervisor and Senior Attendant with six or more months of service shall be entitled to a total of five paid holidays including: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Christmas Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day, provided it falls on a work day.

Pay For Assessment Board Of Review
Each member shall receive $60 for the first day (Chairman $65) and $35 for each additional day thereafter (Chairman $40). The Board of Review will select the secretary who shall take all minutes and make copies. Minutes to be filed with the Town Clerk, copies may be retained by the Assessor. The Secretary will receive one extra day pay ($35) as this is needed to copy the minutes and do reports, total of $90 for the secretary.

Trading Highway Work – The Highway Superintendent has permission from the Town Board to continue the policy of trading work with other towns, county and states when it is of benefit to the Town.
Health Department Liaison – Thomas Sherman will act as liaison between the Town and the Rensselaer County Health Department.
Library Contract – The Town Supervisor is authorized to enter into a contract with the Stephentown Library Association and support them in the amount of $40,691.
Museum Contract – The Town Supervisor is authorized to enter into a contract with the Stephentown Museum and support them in the amount of $8,800.
Fire Department Contract – The Town Supervisor is authorized to sign a contract with the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department in the amount of $3,500 to compensate for use of Fire Department facilities by the Stephentown Veterans, the Stephentown Youth Commission and the Stephentown Seniors.
Historian/Cemetery Contract – The Town Supervisor is authorized to enter into a contract with the Stephentown Historian/Cemetery and support them in the amount of $2,000.
Polling Place – District 1 and 2 – Town Hall, 26 Grange Hall Road
Meetings – 3rd Monday of each month at 7 pm at the Town Hall.
