Lisa Little Wolf will tell the Stephentown Historical Society about Native American cuisine on Monday, November 3. The meeting is at 7:30 pm at the Heritage Center on Garfield Road (County Route 26) in Stephentown. It is free and open to the public. The building is handicapped accessible. Little Wolf, a Northern Cheyenne, will tell about the food traditions of different geographic regions, which have changed little over the years and are passed along through families. When she visits her aunt at the Lame Deer, Montana, Cheyenne Reservation, she helps her with her business making traditional foods. Little Wolf will be dressed in traditional garb and have some dishes to sample.
Little Wolf, a Great Barrington resident, creates jewelry with other family members. Their North Woods Trading Company sells their designs at powwows and craft and jewelry shows.
