Hoosick Falls’ New Payloader

December 10, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Hoosick Falls Public Works Superintendent Niel Stowell and Village Trustee John (Ersel) Hickey stand next to the recently purchased New Holland payloader. The machine has an additional bucket and a fork for off loading heavy pipe. It will be used for loading dump trucks, for work at the transfer station and for snow removal, and it will expedite breaking up roads for removal and repair. The payloader replaces one that is almost 10 years old. The purchase price was $130,000, but with discounts, said Stowell, the actual cost was $83,000. "This was really needed," said Hickey. "The other one had plenty of use and this one can do so many more things." (Bea Peterson photo)
