Kiwanis members from Rensselaer and Sand Lake, including New York District Governor Elect David Booker, joined the Hoosick Falls Kiwanis at the Country Club for dinner and to install officers for the coming year.

Since Gale Leva had recently completed her term as NY District Lt. Governor, Roberta Breese took the opportunity to properly roast her for her efforts with a variety of gifts and photos related to her term in office.

Hoosick Falls outgoing President Dale Lee welcomed everyone and congratulated the group on a successful year that got off to a rocky start. NY District Lt. Governor Jim Rogers commended the members for their work with youth. He was pleased to attend the event that honored the most improved students. The event, he said, included parents and teachers. The Hoosick Falls Kiwanis sponsors youth groups from elementary school through college. Rogers said the group works hard to fulfill the Kiwanis goal of serving the children of the world.

Rogers installed the following as officers for the coming year: President Jim Miner, Vice President Doug Buggee, Secretary Gale Leva, Treasurer Georgia Main and Board members Denise Martin, Herb Loretan, Bob Breese, Sherman Baker, outgoing President Dale Lee and Larry Baker.

Tickets are still available for the gas raffle to be held October 18.
